Snow in September!

A majority of last week was spent recovering from all of our sicknesses. I am happy to report we are sick free now and are finally getting our house back into order. It's amazing how fast the filth and laundry pile up when mom we are sick.

 There has been a lot of party planning going on over here for Camden, obviously! It's going to be a mustache, bow tie theme. There will be a lot of paper garland involved...my new obsession and so easy to make.

 After being hunkered down inside my home for four days straight, and about to pull my hair out, I dropped Camden off at his Grandma Huston's and went to lunch with my mom, SIL, Baby Jacee, and nephew Mason. Oh I so needed that!... The break and my Baby Jacee fix. Camden was still feeling under the weather, so I figured it was best to not have him out around this sweet little girl.

Baby girl is seriously a little piece of heaven!

Thursday, Camden was feeling much better! We hung out at home and got things done around the house.

Love this little boy of mine.

 Friday, we ran some errands to wrap up Grandma Huston's birthday present. As we were driving home, we drove straight into this! SNOW! Yes, believe your eyes...Snow in September. I enjoyed it and Camden kept trying to get his arm out of the burrito I had him rolled up in, to point to the sky. If you live in Utah I am sure you are aware of our weird weather here. A hour later, the sun was out and the snow was gone. It was fun to enjoy it for just a little bit...now lets get back to some Fall weather.

 Friday night John planned a date night for us. We went down to City Creek and enjoyed a delicious dinner at Texas De Brazil. we had SO.MUCH.FOOD. I was literally bursting at the seams when we left. We did some shopping and then headed back to John's parents to pick up Camden. I don't have a picture of us at dinner...Still regretting that, but this is a picture of Camden on our way home. He was exhausted from all the fun he had at G and G Huston's. Thanks for watching him!

 Saturday, we did more shopping up at Traverse Mountain. Now that the weather is changing we all need a new wardrobe. I made loaded baked potato soup for dinner, while John entertained Camden and danced with him. We finished the night off with watching The Great Gatsby.

 Sunday, we went to church. Camden was a monster...a cute, little monster. When we got home, he took a VERY long nap (which he definitely needed), and then we headed out to celebrate Grandma Huston's birthday.

The food was great! The company was great! And it was a great end to our week and weekend. Happy Birthday Grandma Huston. Camden sure does love you!

 P.S.- CAMDEN IS WALKING!...Watch out world.

Friends, Fall, Football, and the Flu

Oh it feels like Fall and I love it! We had a pretty slow start to our week (last week). I've been busy making things for Camden's birthday. I am totally stressing about his birthday pictures coming up this next month, so I decided to make a diaper cover and a birthday hat. It was actually pretty easy and turned our pretty cute. I can't wait to put it to use in his pictures. Plus, it was a lot cheaper than buying it on Etsy :)

We had cooler weather move in on Tuesday and seriously I could have spent the entire evening outside. We took a walk over to the park by our home, in Camden's favorite ride. He loved it and we admired the hill at the park that I am sure we will be sledding down this winter. It did end up getting a little chilly at night, so we headed home to get in our comfy's.

We also celebrated a "Happy 10 months" for Camden this past week. He's growing up...fast, but he is so fun and we love all the new things he is doing.

We also had a play date with Will, my friend Kelli's little boy. She'll be heading back to Ohio at the end of this week, so it was so great to get to see her. We of course talked a lot and the boys played. Will and Camden were so cute together! The talked babbled with each other, shared their toys, and also enjoyed a little picnic full of string cheese, gold fish crackers, and Cheerios. Does it get any better than that?! I get heart broken when she leaves. She'll be back in December though and then Will and Camden can be reunited :)

Will gave Camden a big, hug goodbye and Camden...well he stuck his tongue out for a kiss! We have been teaching to give hugs and kisses, but really...John must have taught him to kiss like that! HA! Definitely wasn't me :)

Thursday night was spent at the temple with my other half :) It was our ward temple night. We did sealings and vowed we would never go as long as we did without going to the temple again. I don't even want to admit when the last time was that I had gone.  Bad Randi. Bad.

Friday we went for a gelato run and some swing time for the little guy at Soda Row. Once again the weather the fabulous!

I picked up some of these from the Grocery Store because really who can resist them?! They are totally a Fall comfort food for me.

 Saturday our little family and my parents went to a nephews football game. Baby Jacee was there, but I was feeling under the weather and Camden had a runny nose, so we kept our distance. My SIL ended up having her mom take her home because the wind was crazy. We didn't want to keep this little angel out in it. Isn't she just to die for?!

 It was also the BYU/UTAH rivalry game Saturday night, so here we are showing our teams support. Even though my SIL and cheer for different teams we still love each other.

 Kobe played a great game and even scored a touch down for Syracuse. GOOD JOB KOBE! He looks like he got pretty beat up here, but he's alive I promise.

Utah ended up winning Saturday night. Camden was out like a light with his dad on the couch. Little did we know that this night would be a no sleep night. Camden was sick, I was sick...like way sick. Way to ring in Fall time huh?!

Minus the fact that Camden didn't feel well, this picture is adorable and I was totally jealous that all he wanted to do was cuddle and sleep with his dad.

So, you know the saying "Sunday Funday"? Yeah...not the case for our Sunday. We headed to insta-care to get Camden and I checked out. I walked away with a diagnoses of Adult Croup! WHAT? Does this even exist? I think they just told me something, prescribed me some drugs, and wanted me to go home. I, on the other hand did my research and it stems from strains of the flu...I think i'm the first one in Utah to get it! JOY!

Camden has a cold and an ear infection. When we got home from the doctor, Camden and I were ordered to go to bed and so that's exactly what we did. John started to feel sick...GREAT! So he too took advantage of my drugs and well...we are all starting to slowly feel better.

I hope this next week we can enjoy the nice Fall weather WITHOUT ANY SICKNESSES! Have a great week everyone!

Camden {10} Months!

{10} months...WHA!!!! Is it just me or does {10} months seem so much older than nine? Maybe it's because there are no more single digit months. I'm totally in denial! I even went and got him out of bed a couple of times this past month to cuddle. He probably thought I was crazy for getting him out of bed at 11:30 at night, but it was worth it! I might also be in denial because I can officially shop for Camden in the "toddler" section at Baby Gap! And though this opens up a whole new possibility of clothes for me to buy him, I'm totally bummed that he is growing up so fast.This past month has been super hard for me to except that he is becoming a "big" boy and and that in just a short amount of time I will have a ONE year old. Crazy I tell ya...but man oh man we sure love him and all the funny and new things he does everyday. He's got the biggest personality and when he knows the attention is on him he puts on the biggest show ever!

 {Height and Weight}

 We have officially broke out the 12-18 month clothes. He still fits in most of his 6-12 month clothes, but with the weather getting colder, the summer clothes will need to be packed away soon.I just love this kid in some cute sweats and a hoodie. It makes him look every more squishy and yummy...if that's even possible :)

We finally got him some Baby Toms and I LOVE THEM. He literally wears them with everything and we finally found some shoes to work with his fat feet. I plan on stocking up on these for sure. He is currently wearing a size 4, but we all know how fast their little feet grow. Camden has also moved up to a size 4 in diapers. We have been loving Huggies slip on diapers for him. They are a little bit more money, but with this wiggle worm and how much he hates to get dressed and changed, they are easy to slip on and go.  They'll defintiely be a lifesaver for Disneyland and the best part is they come in small sizes from 2 and up. I wish I would have known about these sooner!

We've noticed Camden has started to thin out a bit since he has become more mobile. He still a little chunk, but did you know he actually has a neck!? ha ha Yes we are finally able to see it :)

Not so much in this picture...but I promise it's there!

{Health}

No sicknesses for us this past month! Even with cutting teeth (yes, he got his second tooth A.K.A Can Opener). His ears have been bugging him a bit, but luckily it hasn't been anything too serious. Oh how grateful we are for a healthy baby boy!

{Sleeping}

I really do hate to brag...but my child sleeps so great! Don't worry, we do have rough nights and it wasn't all that great at the beginning, but now he spoils us! He is still going down around 8:30pm, waking up at about 6:00am for a bottle, and going back down until about 9:00am. Even if we do have a couple of rough nights here and there, I have no room to complain.

Naps are still random during the day. Sometimes he takes one and sometimes he needs two. His naps are usually 2 hours, sometimes three! I love that he loves sleep...he takes after his mom :) and he's so busy he needs those naps to re-energize! He has even been taking naps while in the car! We've come a long way with napping and liking the car so this is a big deal.

 {Eating}

Camden LOVES food! He is such a great eater and will eat anything you give him. I know this might not always be the case, so we are taking full advantage of it now. We introduced meats to him this past month and he was in heaven. His pediatrician recommended pulled pork from Cafe Rio and though it is sooo messy, it's his favorite. He even makes "yum yum" noises when he eats it.He has also had shredded chicken and really he likes anything we are eating, just cut up in small chunks.

Only two more months of formula and then we can introduce cows milk. I'm not going to lie, it will be nice to give Camden cows milk because formula is expensive! We have been introducing the sippy cup more as well because his pediatrician recommended taking away the bottle when we introduce cows milk and just using the sippy cups. We are crossing our fingers that there will be a smooth transition.

{Likes}
Some new/old likes this past month...
  • Camden loves to walk along all the furniture
  • He loves remotes! This hasn't changed...
  • Camden loves to pull all the dvd cases out of the cabinet
  • He loves his daddy so much and looks forward to seeing him everyday he gets home from work.
  • Camden loves cars toys. He'll push them around for hours it seems.
  • He loves to throw things on the ground...sometimes this isn't a good thing
  • Camden loves his new little push around car we got him to ride in outside.
  • He loves Charlie...and really all dogs
  • He loves otter pops
  • He loves to pull books off his bookshelf
  • Camden loves to get into cabinets...which is why they now have safeties on them :)
  • He loves playing and watching other kids

{Dislikes}
 dislikes this past month...

There really aren't any new dislikes this past month...just the same old stuff like, getting dressed, getting his diaper changed, the word "no", yada yada, yada

{Firsts/ Holidays/ Etc.)
  •  Camden now stands for minutes by himself
  • He got to meet his cousin Jacee for the first time
  • He tried meat for the first time
  • Camden picked his very first Halloween pumpkin from G&G Huston's garden
  • He ate dirt for the first time...YUCKY!
  • He went to the Utah State Fair for the first time and rode his very first horse.
  • He got his second tooth on the bottom...we call them the can openers!
  • Camden has now started to say DAD instead of dada. I think it's safe to say that is his first word besides they typical dada, mama, baba.

Camden, did you know your dad and I think you're the cutest thing ever?! You have the biggest personality and really I don't want to pick favorites, but {10} months sure is fun. You are interacting so much with everyone and really learning so much everyday. You love to flirt with the cashiers at all the stores mom makes you go to. You'll usually wave bye-bye and smile HUGE when we leave. The ladies love you! And really...I don't blame them. We have so much fun together, you and I. I am so grateful I get to be your mom. I have had a rough time with you growing up this past month. Your dad can tell because all I want to do every night is pull you out of bed to cuddle. We can't get enough of your sweet hugs and kisses. I always imagined being a mom would be great, but you have exceeded my expectations times a million. I love watching the bond you and dad have. You two are so much alike. He loves you so much and would do anything for our little family. Keep growing, keep learning and remember how much you are loved.
Happy {10} months little boy!

Showers

This last week was another crazy one. Life doesn't really ever slow down for us, but then when we have free time, we feel lost because it's so rare. We love it though!...this crazy life of ours.

Monday, Camden and I attended the Utah State Fair with my parents, and my step brothers family.  You can read more about that in my previous post. It was a lot of fun! And we decided next year we'll have to go in the evening so John can join us. He wasn't exactly happy he missed Camden's first ride on a miniature horse.

This week was also spent adding the finishing touches to our house for fall. I tell ya...I have been a craft master lately. Its my sanity...it keeps me sane and I really enjoy it. The best part...most of my decor was free! Tree branches, corn stalks, free printables from pinterest...I LOVE free stuff! I also LOVE burlap! It will definitely be a part of our Christmas decor as well. Camden has about had it with me and refuses to make another trip to Hobby Lobby. I usually have to bribe him with some snacks or something really fun in the store to "hold" for me.

 I feel like this is a repeat from last week, but we FINALLY finished our yard projects before Fall arrives. We got our curbing put in and of course it decided to pour rain after. John and I were soaked from standing out in the rain and throwing garbage bags over the concrete. We also planted some more bushes and trees. I am kinda glad we will get a break from yard work for the fall and winter. :) It's been taking over our weekends and nights lately. Welcome to home ownership!

 Camden had a great week. I mean how couldn't he...he hung out side with us while we did work on the yard, played and made messes, and loved having dad home from work on Thursday. We like when dad takes time off, especially momma :) This means I can take a shower whenever I want!

We also celebrated Uncle Brandon's birthday this week. ( no pictures) We had a dinner, and of course cake and ice cream! Happy 28th birthday Uncle Brandon. We love you!

 We got to try out Camden's new ride a lot this week. The weather was FABULOUS! There were a lot of rain showers, but after they would pass we would throw on our jackets and head outside and enjoy the nice cool air. Now every time we go in the garage, he will look for his cool new ride.

Saturday consisted of another shower...a bridal shower and a rain shower. John's cousin Jenny is getting married next month, so I offered up our house for the shower and all the aunts did the rest. It was a beautiful shower and Jenny got a lot of great gifts!  Here is my gift...a basket of kitchen gadgets and cookies supplies. Topped off with a recipe for love and some great weekly meal plan sheets. I also took the time to print these off for myself in hopes that I can be better at planning meals. So far so good :)

And I decided to make another chalkboard! I am getting my practice in before Camden's birthday.

Sunday we were lazy...we attended Stake Conference. John wanted "Fall comfort food" for dinner, so he had turkey and mashed potatoes and I had salad and soup. Then we put Camden to bed a watched Miss America and enjoyed a little us time.

Here's to another great week!

To the fair we go!

This past week, we went to the Utah State Fair. I haven't been here in about six years, but when I found out my parents and step brother and his family were going, I couldn't help but tag a long. Things like this are much more fun with kids. Camden and his cousin Braylee sure had fun and LOVED all the animals...

The goat clearly wanted Camden's yummy thighs...

It was a hot, sunny day

He wasn't too sure about the bee

Camden couldn't get enough of this sheep

and he LOVED riding the horse...He kept clapping while riding him. His name was "Too Slow Joe"

The fair was great! We are excited to go next year!

A New Niece

It's Monday...again! The weekends really go by way to fast over here. I am going to try this new thing on the blog...every Monday I am going to blog about our happenings the week before. I have noticed lately that I have only been blogging about Camden's Monthly updates and nothing else! So, this is my new goal :) I hope to be committed to it and keep it going. So, lets bounce back to last Monday...It was Labor Day and though I would like to say we did a ton, we didn't. Yard work mostly and getting some things ready for fall. We got a fence put it and decided to rip some grass out in our front yard for a flower bed. John was dead by the time we went to a family bbq that night.

The Weather was perfect and Camden enjoyed eating dirt! SUCH.A.BOY

We were all MOST excited for Tuesday though. My Brother and Sister-in-law welcomed home a brand new baby girl they adopted. When I say brand new, I mean she was born on August 30th. They got to meet her that day and decided to name her Jacee. They had to stay and get paperwork taken care of through the holiday, so they finally got to bring her home on Tuesday and we of course drove up to meet her. It was a late night, but so worth all the cute little snuggles I got. Isn't she a dream...

 Camden meeting his new cousin for the first time. He was more interested in her bow, but I am sure these two will be best buds as soon as Baby Jacee gets a little older.

 New family of {6}

 I am so happy for my brother and his family. After their family suffered from more than eight miscarriages and finally decided there wasn't anymore kids in the future for them, this little baby girl came along. The Lord truly provided a way to bring this little girl into their family. I.LOVE.HER! My sister-in-law is cherishing every moment with her, because she knows just how fast it goes. Baby Jacee has helped heal a lot of broken hearts and really...how couldn't she with that sweet sweet face!?

 The rest of the week consisted of crafting, getting ready for baby Jacee's shower, and really just lounging around with my baby boy. John had a retreat for work at the end of the week and didn't get home until really late most nights, so Camden and I got to spend a lot of quality time together, but he sure missed his dad a ton!

Yes...My Fall decor has been going up!

Baby Jacee's shower was a success! She was showered with a lot of cute baby girl clothes and lots of love. Me and Jacee...we have a bond :) When I talk to her, she'll open her eyes and look at me. MELTS MY HEART!

Most of the weekend we staying in our Pj's...especially on Sunday. It felt like fall outside! I even thought about poring myself a hot cocoa and turning on the fire. Slow down Randi.... :)

We Hung out and laughed at cartoons...

and one night Camden was so tired he actually fell asleep while I was changing his diaper!

Here's to another great week!
