New Home Update

This was a picture I took of our home last week... I'd say it's coming along nicely! As of right now they say we are about a month out until completion day. We did have a bit of a hang up with our kitchen and bathroom cabinets, but everything ended up better than before. The company they were using went out of business, so basically they had to start from scratch with picking a vendor to use. Talk about stressful! There were some vendors that were four weeks out to order in the cabinets and we didn't want to have that huge of a delay. Luckily the same color of cabinets we had picked before, did not have a delay on them. So right now we are still on schedule. Also, the new cabinets are a better quality, more style, and the builder gave us the additional price at cost.

I'm still stressing about decorating...John's still stressing about the yard. I am now stressing about the yard too. I can't wait to have my whole family back together. Little charlie has been staying with my in laws. I can't believe how much I miss that little dog. I can't wait to snuggle with him at night again!

Happy Building!!

Today they hung dry wall! Things are getting real!

Camden {5} Months Old

Camden is {5} months today and like I say every month...where is the time going?! He is starting to get a HUGE personality. He smiles all the time (even when he is upset we can still get a smile out of him). He has really found his voice and loves to hear himself. And he most definitely lets us know when he is upset. We've been able to get a few laughs out of him, but mostly he likes to do this for Grandma and Grandpa and dad. This past month was little harder than usual. We suffered from a little thing called the "four month regression", where waking up four times during the night was part of our nightly routine for about a week. It was tough on mommy, daddy, and Camden, but I guess it is pretty common. Schedules sure are unpredictable with a baby, but with a face like this one, it was hard to get upset :)

{Height and Weight}
At five months we aren't sure how much Camden weighs, but if I had to guess he is probably over 17lbs. now. His height is starting to slow down, but man this kid is growing out of all his footie pajamas. In fact we have very few 3-6 month clothes left that he fits in. He is mostly wearing 6-9 and 6-12 month clothes. At five months he is also wearing size 3 diapers.

A lot of people ask how old Camden is when they see him. I tell them and they are amazed by his size! He's a big kid, but to us he's just a chunky, healthy boy with the cutest darn cheeks!

{Health}
Camden is a healthy little boy and we are so grateful for that. He did however get a fever after his immunizations this past month. It lasted for about two days, but we made it through after a few rough nights and lots of cuddling.

{Sleeping}
At {5}months, Camden is sleeping an average of eleven hours all together. He adjusted his schedule a little bit this past month and started going to bed at 9:30, which we love because it's an hour earlier then he was going to bed before. He'll usually sleep until about 6:00, wake up and eat, and go back down until 8:30. Now, besides the one bad week he had, he has kept to this sleeping schedule pretty good.

He is getting on somewhat of a schedule with his naps. He will usually take a nap around 10:30, 1:30, 4;00 and usually a short cat nap before bedtime. I am glad he can be flexible with his day schedule because we are constantly on the go (it seems).

His new favorite way to sleep (which totally freaks us out) is on his tummy. I didn't even know he was capable of rolling over in his crib until this month. I put him down for the night, came in and there he was, on his tummy. I didn't know if I should leave him or flip him over...I flipped him over :) but sure enough in the morning he was back on that tummy!

{Eating}
At {5} months we are finally on an eating schedule! YAY!! Camden eats 5oz every three hours. We did sneak him a few feeding with rice cereal this past month, but he wasn't getting the whole spoon thing. So, we gave it a break for a couple of weeks and a couple of days before he turned {5} months we introduced pears and...HE LOVED IT! I am excited to introduce some new foods to him.

{Likes}
*He loves Sophie. We got him this for Easter and goodness she gets a lot of action :)
*He loves to have his whole fist in his mouth...and pretty much everything else in there too!
*He likes to play on him tummy. If you set him down on his back, he will almost immediately roll over.
*He is starting to like his stroller a lot more.
*He loves going on walks.
*He loves Charlie! They are starting to interact more and whenever he sees him, he will reach out.
*He loves to suck on his pacifier clip...it must taste better then the pacifier.
*He loves to stand on our laps instead of sitting
*He's starting to kind of like his car seat (we haven't had as many fits thrown in the car)
* He loves to suck on the washcloth when he gets in the bath
*He likes sitting in his Bumbo to eat. He is growing out of it though, so he will need a high chair soon.

{Dislikes}
* He doesn't like to be on his back. He lifts his head and feet off the ground when you lay him down, like he is trying to sit up.
*He doesn't like to be hot. With summer just around the corner, we will have to make lots of trips to the pool.  He would be happy if we let him be naked all day long.

{Firsts/ Holidays/ Etc.}
 * This past month Camden got to sit in a swing for the first time. He wasn't too sure about it at first, but ended up enjoying it a lot.

* He went swimming for the first time. Same as the swing, he wasn't sure he liked it at first, but once dad got in with us, he was okay.
* He celebrated his first Easter.

Camden you are getting so big! We look at your newborn pictures and seriously wonder how it happened so fast. Everyone warned us how fast you would grow up and though it makes us sad, we love the new stuff you are learning. Everyday there is something different you do! You are changing right before our eyes. Your smile and little giggles and babbling make our day. You bring so much love and happiness into our home. We love you so much little boy. Happy {5} months!

New Home Update

Our new home is coming along nicely... in fact they gave us news that it should be done around the beginning of June. We love being so close to drive by everyday and see what progress they have made. There is a negative to being so close though...if we drive by and don't see anyone working on it, it kind of gets frustrating...just a little :)

They recently did all the framing inside, plumbing, and should be doing electrical this week as well. We did find out today that the construction manager has left the company, so our home was handed off to another construction manager, but the same team of men who have been working on it all along...the builder has informed us that the new guy is great and plans to stay on the same schedule. We are hoping things will continue to go as great as they have been. and I am hoping to not lose my patience :) Remember the goal is to be in our new home by my birthday...they've got two months!

Last week...

This week...

John is mostly looking forward to doing yard work when the house is finished. It's all he thinks about really, and all I think about it decorating! I can't wait to make this place our home and have I mentioned just how excited I am for holidays here?! I'm already trying to decide how I am going to decorate the fireplace for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines Day...you name it! My head is going to explode with all the ideas I have going on.

Since we are living so close to our new home until it is finished, we decided we would go ahead and attend our church ward that we will be going to when we move in...I mean we might as well :) We live one minute away from the church! The ward members have been great and there are so many young couples with children. I was relieved when I went to Relief Society on Sunday and the whole back row was mom's with their babies. I felt so at home! I was worried Camden would be loud, but he did great going to all three blocks. I hate to admit that this was the first week we have done all three blocks since he was born...I was literally too scared, now I feel much better! Maybe it's because I know there are others that understand and it won't be too awkward if my child yells out because there were three other babies in there as well.

Here's to another week of building!

Springtime

Isn't springtime just the best!? We have been enjoying it so much over here and Camden absolutely loves to be outside.  The sun has been shining so much that Grandma Ashcroft convinced me that we need to buy Camden some sunglasses...after all who likes to have the sun in their eyes :)...not this little one!

Now, for the next five days we are suppose to get those lovely things called "April showers". So it looks like we will be spending some more time inside.  But we don't mind too much! After all April showers bring May flowers. So, until then enjoy these adorable pictures of the cutest kid on earth...no really though :)

♥Happy Spring♥

Easter Weekend {2013}

Our Easter Holiday began on Friday when we headed up to Park City to stay at the Montage Deer Valley Resort. This resort is absolutely stunning and we felt honored to be able to have a complementary stay here. John received it after attending a work conference at St. Reggis ( the one I also got to attend two days before Camden joined our family). We were excited to take Camden with us and enjoy a little Easter weekend get away.

Our night started out with a dip in the pool. This was Camden's first time swimming. At first when he saw the pool of water we freaked out, but once we got him comfortable, he didn't mind it too much. It was indoor and heated, which was good because the Montage is at the very top of a mountain and it was only 35 degrees that night. Swimming wore him right out and he was pretty much zonked until we headed to dinner.

 Doesn't he look soo cute in his shark swimsuit!

For dinner we ate at the family friendly pub and bar at the resort... they had wood fire pizza, pool tables, and a nostalgic  arcade. There were so many kids and families, which we loved because places are always better when they are kid friendly. The best part about the little eatery was that there was a bowling alley! Yes, a bowling alley at the resort. This place was awesome!

After dinner we decided to walk out to the fire pit and enjoy the beautiful views and then it was time for Camden to hit the sack, so mom and dad could spend some time together. The resort brought Camden a beautiful crib, a diaper genie, and the cutest Doodle & Boo gift set...really?! Yeah...love this place!

The next morning Camden got up happy as a clam. We ate breakfast, got pictures with the Canines that live at the resort and headed to the outlets for some shopping.We were all so tired after, so we headed back to SLC and crashed at John's parents and watched Hunger Games.

Easter morning we got up and got ready for church. I couldn't wait to show off Camden's adorable Easter outfit. He was definitely the most stylish kid at church...maybe I am bias :) We gave him his Easter Basket with Sofie the giraffe, a rabbit bib, his Easter outfit, a chick, and a Peter Rabbit book. A Peter Rabbit book will be an Easter tradition every year for our children...there are so many different one's :)

The rest of our Easter was spent with family. First we enjoyed an Easter dinner with my side...gosh we miss The Horton's! Their kids are all so busy, that we hardly ever see them...they are always running in different directions. (grandma and grandpa and Cory aren't pictured...possibly because I was too busy taking pictures of these goofballs)

 We then headed to John's side for our annual Taggart Easter egg hunt. It is always so great to see everyone on this side. Since Grandma Betty died we don't get to see much of anyone anymore, so I was over joyed to see over sixty people show up for the egg hunt...obviously only a select few are pictured. We seriously loved it though and also loved showing off Camden too! He hadn't met a lot of these people, so it was great for all of them to finally see him.

Our Easter was great! Lots of food, fun, and family time...just the way holidays should be. It was also a great day to remember the sacrifices our Savior has made for us. We feel extremely blessed to have the atonement in our lives. Here's to next Easter...when Camden can find his own egg! ha ha

Camden's {4} month wellness check

Camden had his {4} month check-up last week and oh my goodness he's getting big!
Here are his {4} month stats:
 *Weight- 16.31 lbs. 70%tile
*Length- 25.25 inches 51%tile
* Head Circumference- 16.5 inches 35%tile

His pediatrician said he is healthy as can be and told us to try and wait until he is five months to start him on solids :) We have been sneaking some rice cereal here and there, but we will officially start with fruits and veggies in about a month. He is definitely showing interest in our food and grabbing everything he can and putting in right in his mouth.

He also got his {4} month shots. He only cried when he got them and then was all smiles by the time we left the office. That night he did suffer a low grade fever, but it was gone for the most part by the next day after lots of sleeping and cuddling.
